Due to heavy rains, landslides have occurred at many places on the Yamunotri National Highway and the highway has been washed out. On Monday, Uttarkashi SP Sarita Doval reached the spot and inspected various landslide zones. She met the personnel of the police and other agencies working there and took stock of the protective measures.

SP Doval directed that effective action should be taken to open the blocked route as soon as possible and traffic should be managed in a safe manner. In view of the rainy season, SP Sarita Doval instructed the personnel to work with caution and alertness. The SP also said that in case of excessive rain, landslides or closure of the route, arrangements should be made to stop the pilgrims at safe places.
SP left for inspection of Silai Band
Let us tell you that due to continuous rain for the last two days, landslides have occurred at many places on the Yamunotri Highway. At some places the highway has been completely washed away. While inspecting such dangerous areas, SP Dobal tested the security arrangements there. After which SP left for inspection of the recent landslide site near Silai Band.
