Uttarakhand: Bijrani and Sitavani tourist zones of Corbett Tiger Reserve closed during monsoon season

a
Monsoon has become active in Uttarakhand. In view of the monsoon, the major tourist zones of Corbett Tiger Reserve have been closed for the safety of tourists. In the monsoon season, the famous Bijrani zone of Corbett Tiger Reserve and Sitavani zone of Ramnagar Forest Division have been closed for tourists from today.
In these zones, tourism activities are closed every year during the monsoon season due to the overflowing of rivers and streams and bad roads. Earlier, Bhandarpaani and Kaladhungi tourist zones of Ramnagar Forest Division were closed from June 26. In this sequence, now Corbett Falls and Barati Rau have also been closed. However, some zones will still remain open for tourists. Dhela, Jhirna, Garjia of Corbett Park and Fato and Hathidgar tourist zones of Terai Western Forest Division are open for day safari and limited tourism activities will continue in them even during the monsoon.
Usually these zones remain open throughout the year, but in case of excessive rainfall, they can also be closed temporarily. Bijrani zone will be reopened from October 15 and Corbett’s most popular Dhikala zone will be reopened from November 15 in the new tourist season. It is worth mentioning that every year before the onset of monsoon, many zones of Corbett National Park are closed for security reasons. Now, in the monsoon season, Corbett’s Bijrani and Forest Division’s Sitavani tourist zone have been closed.
