Uttarakhand gets the gift of sports university and 23 academies, CM Dhami said the state will become a sports hub

c
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami is going to give a gift to sportspersons in the fifth year of his tenure. There are not one but two gifts. The first gift is related to the construction of a sports university in Haldwani, whose foundation stone is being prepared on Sports Day. At the same time, the second gift is related to the opening of 23 sports academies in the state.
23 academies and universities are being built in 8 cities
It is worth noting that during the National Games, these academies will be opened in the eight cities including Dehradun, Haridwar, Haldwani, where sports activities were conducted and infrastructure was prepared. This will have two benefits. One, the infrastructure prepared for sports will be better maintained. Two, solid platforms can be prepared for the training of players. In the fourth year of CM Dhami’s tenure, Uttarakhand has taken a big leap in the world of sports.
CM Dhami is serious about maintaining the wonderful atmosphere of sports even in the fifth year of his tenure. Therefore, whether it is the construction of a sports university in Haldwani or the opening of 23 sports academies in eight cities, there is enough speed on both the subjects. Let us tell you that the notification of the sports university has also been issued. Similarly, the government is going to open 23 academies. Work is going on at a fast pace to implement both these important projects.
38th National Games
The successful organization of the 38th National Games on the land of Uttarakhand in the silver jubilee year of Uttarakhand was the biggest sports achievement of the Dhami government. The event was grand and our players also performed well. In the last National Games in Goa, Uttarakhand had won only 24 medals, but this time it scored a century of medals and secured seventh place in the table. This event expanded sports facilities and made such infrastructure available, which will prove to be a milestone in the field of sports.
New Sports Policy
In the new sports policy announced in the year 2021, special focus was placed on the encouragement of players. An incentive amount of one to two crores has been arranged for the Olympic medal winners.
Government jobs are being given to the players who bring medals in international and national competitions. The incentive amount of the players has been doubled and scholarships are also being given. Another attractive thing about this policy is that by merely participating in big competitions, the player is becoming entitled to the incentive amount. Whether he gets a medal or not.
Uttarakhand is also being recognized as a sports land: CM
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that Uttarakhand is also being known as a sports land, it is a pleasant feeling for us. After the grand event of the National Games, there is a better sports environment in the state. The CM said that the morale of the players is high and they are performing well. The sequence of taking big decisions and implementing them for the development of sports and players will continue.
