Amarnath Yatra is a festival for Jammu and Kashmir – Surinder Chaudhary
On the Amarnath Yatra starting from July 3, he said, ‘This Yatra is a festival for Jammu and Kashmir, this is the journey of Baba Barfani which was started by our elders. The special thing about this Yatra is that its base camp is in Jammu and the holy cave temple of Baba Amarnath is located in Kashmir. It is a symbol of brotherhood of Jammu and Kashmir, which the whole world knows. Jammu and Kashmir is known for its hospitality, the day we lose this hospitality, we will truly lose the customs of Jammu and Kashmir.’
Surinder Chaudhary praised BRO
Surinder Chaudhary said that he had come to Sonamarg to review the preparations for the Yatra. He said that the Yatra is starting from July 3 and before that he himself went and inspected the track. He said, “I am very happy to tell that the Border Road Organization (BRO) has done a wonderful job of rebuilding the track.” He also said, “There are very few working days in Kashmir and the construction work will stop again as soon as the Yatra starts, so the readiness of BRO is commendable. In future, such tracks will also be built so that the elderly can also have darshan of Baba.”
The Deputy CM also said that this time the state government and Shri Amarnath Shrine Board are working together to conduct the Amarnath Yatra in an organized and safe manner.
