Many big changes are going to be implemented in the country from today i.e. 1st July 2025, which can directly affect your travel pocket and everyday life. This includes rules from Aadhaar-PAN linking to railway ticket booking, bank charges, credit cards etc. Let us understand these changes in easy language.

Aadhaar-PAN linking is now necessary

Let us tell you that the Central Government, Railways and Banks have together changed many rules. Some may be heavy on your pocket, while some may also be beneficial for you.

Aadhaar verification has become mandatory for new PAN card from July 1. After this decision of CBDT i.e. Central Board of Direct Taxes, if you go to get a new PAN card made, then you will also have to give Aadhaar number. So, those who already have a PAN card will have to link their PAN with Aadhaar by December 31. If this does not happen then their PAN card will be deactivated. Date for filing income tax return extended

There is also good news for the employed people. CBDT has extended the last date for filing income tax return (ITR) from 31 July to 15 September. That is, now they will get 46 days of extra time. In such a situation, if all your documents are ready, then finalize the return immediately.

This is good for those who do not have time to file returns. But do not delay too much. There is a risk of error on the website. Therefore, it is important to file it as soon as possible.

Change in Tatkal booking and ticket prices in Railways

Railways has also implemented new rules for passengers. Your Aadhaar verification will now be necessary to book Tatkal tickets. With this, two-factor authentication will be implemented. This rule will come into effect from July 15. In this, OTP will come on your Aadhaar registered number.

Along with this, the price of railway tickets is also going to increase. Where there will be an increase of one paisa per kilometer for non-AC coaches and two paisa per kilometer for AC coaches.

Changes in credit card rules

  • Banks like SBI, HDFC and ICICI have changed the rules of credit cards. SBI has removed the air accident insurance available on purchasing air tickets with its premium cards like BI Elite, Miles Elite, and Miles Prime. Also, the method of calculating the minimum amount due (MAD) for monthly bills will also be changed.
  • HDFC Bank has implemented new transaction charges from July 1. Now 1% fee will have to be paid on online games worth more than ₹10,000, digital wallet load and utility bills (excluding insurance) and fare payments above ₹50,000, which is limited to a maximum of ₹4,999.
  • ICICI Bank has fixed a charge of ₹23 for ATM withdrawals after the first 5 times and ₹8.5 for non-financial transactions.
  • Axis Bank has also fixed a charge of ₹23 for withdrawing cash from another bank’s ATM after the free limit.

Old vehicles will not get fuel in Delhi

From July 1, the Delhi government has implemented a fuel ban on old (End-of-Life) vehicles due to air pollution. According to which 15-year-old petrol-driven vehicles and 10-year-old diesel vehicles will not get petrol and diesel at petrol pumps. For this, ANPR cameras have been set up at petrol and diesel stations. It will check the registration number of the vehicles in the VAHAN database. If the vehicle falls in the EoL category, fuel will not be given.

New rules of GST and RBI

From July 1, there will be no editing in GSTR-3B returns. This return will be automatically filled from the data of GSTR-1 or 1A and cannot be changed after submission. RBI has extended the time of call money market. Now banks will be able to lend money to each other from 9 am to 7 pm. Earlier this time was till 5 pm.
