During the meeting of the Provincial Council of BJP held in Dehradun, Central Election Officer Harsh Malhotra formally announced the unopposed election of Bhatt. Earlier, in the nomination held on June 30, only Mahendra Bhatt had filed nomination for the post of president, which cleared the way for his re-election.
