After the matter came to the notice, on the instructions of Kumaon Commissioner Deepak Rawat, the Mukhani police station has registered a case against the property dealer. At present, the police is investigating the whole matter.

The matter came to light after 14 years: Another surprising thing in this case is that the victims did not know for 14 years that they had been cheated. It is being told that a person resident of Tilak Market Damuwadhunga of Mukhani police station area is posted in the Kumaon Regiment of the Army, who is currently posted in Kashmir.

In 2011, the Jawan had bought 1900 sq. ft. land in his wife’s name in Ramdi Aansingh of Mukhani through property dealers. Along with getting the said land registered, he had also got a boundary wall constructed on the land. According to the Jawan, whenever he came on leave, he would definitely go to see his land. This time too, when he came on leave, he went to see the land and found that someone had put up a barbed wire fence on his land.

It was found that the land on which he was claiming his own was registered in the name of Taruna Verma. When the Jawan searched for his plot according to the field number, it was revealed that 9 such plots had been sold, after which he went to Suresh Chandra Joshi, brother of property dealer Hem Chandra Joshi who sold the plot, and told him that his plot was not there on the spot.

When the Patwari was asked about this, he was told that the place which he was claiming as his own was a road. The property dealers have sold the wrong place. When the entire matter was investigated, it was revealed that the property dealers sold land to nine people in this manner. Mukhani police station in-charge Dinesh Joshi says that a case of land fraud and cheating has been registered against the property dealers in the entire matter and investigation has been started. Action will be taken soon.
