India got support from Quad on Pahalgam terror attack, joint statement showed tough stand on terrorism

The countries included in the Quad have condemned the Pahalgam terrorist attack and emphasized on bringing the criminals and financiers who carried it out to justice. This has been clearly stated in the joint statement issued by the foreign ministers of Quad i.e. America, India, Japan and Australia. This statement has come after Indian Foreign Minister S Jaishankar, US Foreign Minister Marco Rubio, Japanese Foreign Minister Takeshi Iwaya and Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong attended the Quad Foreign Ministers’ meeting in the US.
The foreign ministers of the Quad countries have emphasized on paying special attention to anti-terrorism cooperation in their meeting. During this, Jaishankar condemned terrorism and informed about India’s recent anti-terrorism operations. This also includes Operation Sindoor carried out after the Pahalgam terrorist attack. On April 22, terrorists attacked Pahalgam in Kashmir and killed 26 people. After this, India carried out attacks targeting terrorist bases in Pakistan.
What does the Quad statement say
The foreign ministers of the Quad countries said in their joint statement, ‘We strongly condemn the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir on April 22, 2025, in which 25 Indian citizens and a Nepali citizen lost their lives, while many others were injured. We call on the perpetrators, organizers and financiers of this reprehensible act to be brought to justice without delay. We also express our deepest condolences to the families of the victims and wish all the injured a speedy and full recovery.’
In the Quad Foreign Ministers’ meeting, a resolution was taken for the security of the Indo-Pacific, pointing to the threat from China. The Quad countries reiterated that it is important to maintain international law and freedom of the sea. The joint statement said that we underline our commitment to protect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the region. Peace at sea ensures prosperity for all. In such a situation, no country should try to redraw the lines by force.
