TV is spying on you! The whole house is on target, change these settings immediately

It is not necessary that only mobile is spying on you. Now even the smart TV in your house is quietly noting your likes and dislikes. What are you watching? For how long are you watching? On which OTT platform are you spending the most time. Your TV notes all this itself and then this data is quietly sent to the servers of the companies.
TV is spying on you! Smart TV spying on users
Often when we buy a new smart TV, we quickly skip each step during setup. But this is where the mistake happens. Because in most TVs, the data collection setting is already on. That means you did not even think anything and your TV is already engaged in ‘spying’ on you.
Not just you, the whole house is on target
On the phone, only you are the target, but in TV the matter becomes a little serious. There, the viewing pattern of your children, parents, or any guest coming to the house, everyone can be recorded. And on this basis, targeted ads and content are shown on TV.
ACR technology is the real spy
The biggest weapon of this tracking is ACR i.e. Automatic Content Recognition. This technology recognizes every content that is running on your TV screen. Then that information is sent to the TV manufacturing company or a third party.
What to do to protect yourself?
If you do not want your TV to peep into your privacy, then you will have to turn off the ACR feature manually. For this, do the following.
Go to Settings
- Open the Privacy or Terms & Conditions section
- Find options like Viewing Data, ACR or Data Collection
- Turn them Off
By doing this, your TV will stop recording your habits. After this, you can now watch your favorite movie peacefully without thinking that someone is reading your habits behind the screen.
