The process of Panchayat elections in Uttarakhand has formally started from July 2. The nomination process has started from today for this election to be held in all 12 districts except Haridwar district, which will continue till July 5.

Nomination for Panchayat elections begins

According to the program released by the Election Commission, the nomination papers will be scrutinized between July 7 and 9. Panchayat elections will be held in two phases this time. Voting for the first phase is to be held on July 24 and the second phase on July 28. While the counting of votes will be done on July 31.

Panchayat elections will be held in 7499 Gram Panchayats of 89 blocks

Let us tell you that Panchayat elections will be conducted in a total of 7499 Gram Panchayats of 89 blocks of the state. In these, voting will be held for the posts of Gram Pradhan, Gram Panchayat Member, Kshetra Panchayat Member and District Panchayat Member. A big step has been taken in this election towards giving equal representation to women.

50% reservation is available for women

For information, let us tell you that out of 7499 Gram Pradhan posts, 3772 seats have been reserved for women. The system of 50 percent reservation in panchayat elections is already in place in the state, the effect of which will be widely seen this time too.
