The DM of Uttarakhand’s capital Dehradun is once again in the headlines. This time too, he is in the news for breaking the protocol. Because on Friday, when Union Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu arrived at Dehradun airport, DM sahab did not come to receive him. Instead, SDM Doiwala reached to receive him. Dehradun District Magistrate Savin Bansal had earlier broken the protocol during the visit of Lok Sabha Speaker Om Biral. On the other hand, after repeating the mistake, the administration officials have maintained silence on the entire episode. State Secretary Vinod Kumar Suman said that he is not aware of the matter till now. The matter is being taken into cognizance.
In fact, on June 12, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla came on a visit to Mussoorie, but Dehradun DM Savin Bansal neither picked up the phone before his arrival, nor did he follow the courtesy on reaching Dehradun and Mussoorie, not only this, he did not even follow the protocol in respect of the Lok Sabha Speaker. Lok Sabha Speaker’s Office expressed strong displeasure over this attitude of Dehradun DM Savin Bansal, and complained about it to the Central Personnel Ministry, then on June 19, seeing the seriousness of the matter, the Central Personnel Department wrote a letter to the Chief Secretary of Uttarakhand.
