Indian Prime Minister’s state visit to Brazil after 57 years, hope for anti-terrorism agreement

Regarding Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Brazil, Indian Ambassador Dinesh Bhatia said on Saturday that a bilateral anti-terrorism agreement is expected to be signed between India and Brazil during this visit. Bhatia said that both the countries are very close to each other. India opened its first embassy in Latin America in Brazil in 1948. Since then our relations have become very strong.

PM Modi’s fourth visit to Brazil

He said that in 2006 we raised these relations to the level of strategic partnership and since then it has been continuously strengthening. This is Prime Minister Modi’s fourth visit to Brazil. He has come three times before this. But this is the first time he is coming on a state visit.

PM Modi will stay in Rio de Janeiro for two days

He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will reach Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on July 5 and will stay there for two days. After this he will go to Brasilia for a state visit. This state visit is very important because this is the first state visit of an Indian Prime Minister after 57 years.

Brazil is hosting the BRICS summit

Regarding the BRICS summit, he said, Brazil is hosting the BRICS summit this year. This is the first time that new partner countries are participating in it. Reforms in global governance and financial institutions have always been on the main agenda of BRICS and this process will continue in the future as well. Apart from this, Brazil has also included many other issues in the discussion, which will find a place in the joint declaration.
