Ukraine’s counter attack after Putin’s hypersonic missile attack, targeting Russia’s military airfield

Ukraine retaliated against Russia by attacking its military airfield on Saturday (July 05, 2025). The Ukrainian army gave this information through social media.
The Ukrainian army said in a statement that Ukrainian special forces attacked Russia’s Borisoglebsk military airfield in the Voronezh region on Saturday, targeting glider bomb stores and a trainer aircraft. The army further said that other aircraft are also likely to be attacked. However, the army did not give any detailed information about it. The statement said, “This airfield is the home base of enemy Su-34, Su-35S and Su-30SM aircraft.”
Russia attacked Ukraine overnight
At the same time, Russia carried out the biggest air strike and targeted Ukraine overnight with drones and missiles. One person was killed and at least 26 people, including a child, were injured in this attack. Officials said that the seven-hour bombing in Kiev has caused heavy damage in many districts of the capital.
Explosions lit up the night sky and the sound of air raid sirens echoed across the city. Blue lights of emergency vehicles were falling on tall buildings and debris blocked the city streets. Regarding the attack, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said, ‘It was a harsh and sleepless night.’
Russia increasing attacks on Ukraine
Russia is increasing its long-range attacks on Ukrainian cities. The Russian Air Force said that during the night Russia fired 550 drones and missiles in Ukraine. Most of these were Shahed drones. Along with this, Russia also fired 11 missiles in the attack. Officials said that five ambulances were damaged and emergency services had to remove more than 300 tons of debris.
