Uttarakhand: Chief Secretary held video conferencing with District Magistrates, Chief Secretary gave instructions to listen to the problems of the common people and pay special attention to their resolution

Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan reviewed various issues through video conferencing held with District Magistrates in the Secretariat on Friday and gave guidelines.
The Chief Secretary has directed all the District Magistrates to listen to the problems of the common people and pay special attention to their resolution. He said that the Electricity Department, Drinking Water Department and other such departments which provide civil services must visit their areas of work. He has instructed the departments to immediately get the work of repairing the crooked electric poles, hanging wires and broken drinking water pipelines done. He said that until the officers do not go to the field, they will not be aware of the problems of the common people. He has instructed all the officers to visit the field regularly.
The Chief Secretary also inquired about the progress of Uniform Civil Code (UCC) registration in all the districts. He said that awareness programs should be conducted so that the general public registers their marriages in maximum numbers. He said that the pending cases of registration should be resolved quickly. He has also given instructions to conduct special campaigns for registration in the plain districts.
The Chief Secretary said that it is often seen that such marriage registrations, in which both the husband and wife or one of them was a minor at the time of marriage, but at present both have become adults at the time of registration, are being rejected, which is wrong. He stressed that such marriage cases should also be registered.
The Chief Secretary reviewed the Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission (PM-ABHIM) district wise and took information about the updated status of each center from each district. He directed to expedite the work of setting up ‘Block Public Health Units’ at the block level. He said that the block public health units should be activated by ensuring the arrangement of equipment in the units where construction work has been completed.
On this occasion, Secretary Shailesh Bagauli, Chandresh Kumar Yadav, Vinod Kumar Suman, Additional Secretary Mrs. Ranjana Rajguru, Vijay Kumar Jogdande, Manuj Goyal, Additional Secretary Home Mrs. Nivedita Kukreti and other senior officers were present.
Chief Secretary took the meeting of Integrated Metropolitan Transport Authority related to the mobility plan of Dehradun city
Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan held a meeting of the Integrated Metropolitan Transport Authority related to the mobility plan of Dehradun city in the Secretariat on Friday. During the meeting, the Chief Secretary inquired about the progress of the traffic congestion plan for Dehradun city.
The Chief Secretary has directed the officials to expedite the improvement process in the 10 places identified for improvement under the mobility plan. He said that the DPR of the improvement works which have been prepared has been instructed to start the work in the next one month. He has also instructed the DPR of the remaining works to be prepared by July 31. He has instructed the District Magistrate to continuously monitor it so that the work can be completed on time.
The Chief Secretary said that the roads which have been widened now, have the same situation as before the vehicles were parked in no parking zones. He said that effective enforcement should be done to ensure that vehicles are not parked in no parking zones. He said that the process of constantly searching for new parking places should be continued for this problem. He said that continuous work should be done to ensure 100% use of parking of commercial buildings. He has also directed to explore the possibilities of underground parking under the Secretariat, Pavilion Ground and Parade Ground. The possible parking places identified in the CMP should be explored.
The Chief Secretary said that the process of shifting of Aadhat Bazar should be expedited. He expressed displeasure over the delay in the process of land allotment. He said that a timeline should be set for various types of activities in the work of shifting Aadhat Bazar and the Chief Secretary’s office should be informed soon. He said that the Transport Department should also expedite the process of formation of SPV in accordance with the mobility plan and directed to bring the proposal to the Cabinet in the next 15 days.
The Chief Secretary stressed the need to prepare a plan for Dehradun in view of the problem of traffic congestion for the next 25-30 years. He said that a meeting should be organized soon for this.
On this occasion, Principal Secretary R. Meenakshi Sundaram, Secretary Dr. Pankaj Kumar Pandey, District Magistrate Dehradun Savin Bansal, Additional Secretary Vijay Kumar Jogdande, Mrs. Reena Joshi, Mrs. Pooja Garbyal and Brijesh Kumar Mishra from Uttarakhand Metro Rail Corporation along with senior officials of the concerned departments were present.
