Uttarakhand: Fraud found in Ayushman cards in Dehradun, police filed case after complaint

After a big case of Ayushman fraud came to light in the capital Dehradun, a case has been registered in Rajpur police station and Nagar Kotwali. In comparison to 1,36,676 ration cards canceled by the District Food Supply Office, some people made 9428 fake Ayushman cards. When the State Health Authority (SHA) investigated the data sent from the District Food Supply Office, the fraud came to light. Now the police of both the police stations have identified all such cases and started taking action, so that ineligible persons do not get the benefit of government schemes.
Fraud in Ayushman card: Additional Director (IT) of State Health Authority Amit Sharma has lodged a complaint in Rajpur police station that out of 9,428 Ayushman cards made on the basis of fake ration cards, 150 cards have been canceled so far. While the process of canceling other cards is also going on. Data of 1,36,676 ration cards canceled by the District Food Supply Office was provided. When the State Health Authority (SHA) investigated the data sent from the District Food Supply Office, the fraud was detected.
Fraud detected in investigation: In the investigation, 9,428 Ayushman cards were found to be fake as compared to the 136676 ration cards cancelled. The process of deactivating them by the State Health Authority (SHA) is underway and 150 cards have already been cancelled. There seems to be a possibility of a gang being involved in making Ayushman cards. Also, crores of rupees of profit may have been taken from these Ayushman cards.
As per the instructions of the government, verification of ration cards was done, under which some of the 1,36,676 ration cards were made fraudulently. Some are inactive, in some the ration card holders have died. Such ration cards have been cancelled. Due to the high number of cancelled ration cards, it appears that some people have got ration cards made by submitting wrong documents. The District Magistrate and District Supply Officer have given instructions to take action on the canceled cards.

CM Dhami had given instructions for investigation: Let us tell you that on the instructions of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, instructions were given to run a comprehensive verification campaign for the investigation of ration cards. Ration cards are mandatory documents to avail the benefits of Ayushman Yojana. In such a situation, a large number of ineligible people made fake ration cards to avail the benefits of Ayushman Yojana. As soon as the data of these ration cards went online, Ayushman cards were also issued.
What did the police say in the matter: SP City Pramod Kumar has told that on the complaint of Amit Sharma, Additional Director (IT) of State Health Authority, a case has been registered in Rajpur police station. Also, on the basis of the complaint of Shashank Chaudhary, Ration Card Incharge of District Supply Office, a case was registered in Kotwali Nagar. By registering a case in both the police stations, now all such cases will be identified and further action will be taken. So that ineligible persons can be prevented from getting unfair benefits of government schemes.
