Kaljikhal block seat reserved for the post of village head

The process of Uttarakhand Panchayat elections is going on. But meanwhile a strange case has come to light in a village of Pauri. After which the villagers have announced boycott of elections. Actually, due to reservation in the village panchayat Dangi of Kaljikhal block in Pauri Garhwal, a problem has arisen in front of the villagers.

There are no people of OBC caste in the village

Let us tell you that in this village the post of village head has been reserved for OBC. But the surprising thing is that in village Dangi there is neither any voter of backward class i.e. OBC nor any citizen of OBC. Due to which not a single nomination has been filed for the post of village head.

No one’s OBC certificate has been made in the village since 2014

The villagers say that their Gram Sabha has been reserved under the OBC category by the Election Commission. But since 2014, no one’s OBC certificate has been made in the village. The villagers allege that they raised this issue before the Election Commission several times in time and also raised it during the objection. But no solution has been found so far.

Villagers warned of boycotting the voting

The villagers have warned that if this issue is not resolved, they will boycott the voting for the area panchayat and district panchayat. The villagers say that no homework has been done by the administration regarding this. The people of the village have called it a big negligence of the government and administration.

Villagers submitted a memorandum to the DM

The angry villagers have given a memorandum to District Magistrate Swati S Bhadauria regarding the matter. Regarding the matter, the DM says that a letter will be sent to the government regarding the issue of the villagers. As soon as instructions are received from the government, further action will be taken accordingly.
