Uttarakhand: Fraud happened in the name of IAS Meenakshi Sundaram, money was demanded from people, complaint was made to SSP

Money was demanded from people by putting a photo of Uttarakhand’s senior IAS Meenakshi Sundaram on WhatsApp. The number on which his photo has been put as DP is a foreign number. IAS Sundaram has complained about this to SSP Dehradun. Earlier also, an attempt has been made to cheat using his photo. In this regard, he had complained to the police in March 2024.

The IAS told the SSP that his photo has been put as DP on a foreign number. People are being sent messages on this number and money is being demanded. It is being said that he wants to invest money in a project, but the bank is not helping. In such a situation, he is demanding 50 rupees from someone and one lakh rupees from someone. Money is being demanded through Google Pay. An Indian number has been given for this. The IAS has provided a screenshot of this number. Some people have also agreed to send money on this. However, the information about how many people have deposited money is not in it.

IAS Sundaram is currently looking after the responsibility of Principal Secretary Energy, Housing and Planning Department. He has also attached a letter of March 2024 with this original complaint. The IAS has told the SSP that he has not been informed about what action was taken on the complaint made at that time. Therefore, strict action should be taken against cyber thugs to prevent such recurrence.

A complaint has been received against IAS Meenakshi Sundaram. An inquiry has been ordered on this. Action was also taken on the first complaint, the report of which has been summoned. In the latest case also, strict action will be taken against the accused soon.
