Uttarakhand: Raids on medical stores in Dehradun, liquor bottles found in some places, pharmacists missing in others

Joint teams of District Legal Services Authority and FDA have caught several irregularities while raiding medical stores of Dehradun. Led by Secretary Authority Seema Dungrakoti and Drug Inspector Manvendra Singh Rana, the team inquired about licenses, pharmacist records, cold storage facilities, expired medicines and their disposal process, narcotics drugs at various medical stores. Expired medicines were also seized from many medical stores.

According to Secretary Seema, proprietor Gursharan Singh and pharmacist were not found during inspection at Kapoor Medicos on Raipur Road. Apart from this, temperature display was not found in the fridge in the medical store. Expired insulin medicine was found in the fridge. Narcotics medicines are also bought and sold from the medical store. Irregularities were found in the investigation of their bills. Many medicines were also found expired. Cleanliness was also not being taken care of in the store. Similarly, proprietor Amarjeet Singh was found during inspection at Kapoor Medical on Raipur Road but pharmacist was not found. Many syringes were found outside in this store, insulin was found in bad condition. Many expired medicines were found.

Bills for narcotics claims were not found. Wholesale medicines were being sold despite not having a license. Nidhi Kukreti and pharmacist were not found in Lakshya Medicos on Raipur Road. According to Secretary Seema, many irregularities were found in the medical store. Expired medicines were also seized here by the drug inspector Drug Administration.

Pharmacist Kapil was also not found in a pharmacy on Raipur Road. Four bottles of liquor were also found in this store. During interrogation, it was told that he used to burn the expired medicines. The record of which was not kept. A high level of 18 degrees was found in the fridge. Due to which all the medicines and vaccines kept in the fridge get spoiled. The joint team found serious irregularities in this pharmacy.
