Uttarakhand Cooperative Minister Dr Dhan Singh Rawat has gone on a tour of Gujarat. In such a situation, he has made a big announcement on Friday. He said that the campus of the country’s first cooperative university will be opened in Uttarakhand soon. For this, all the formalities are being completed by the state government.
Dhan Singh Rawat held an important meeting with Gujarat Cooperative Minister Jagdish Vishwakarma and other officials at Gandhinagar Circuit House. During this, topics like digital banking, loan distribution, and recovery of non-performing assets i.e. NPA were discussed.
Tribhuvan Cooperative University to open in Uttarakhand
Dr. Rawat praised the cooperative model of Gujarat and said that by implementing it in Uttarakhand, farmers, women and youth will be economically empowered. He praised GSCB’s digital banking system and efficient mechanism of NPA recovery.
He said, “Tribhuvan Cooperative University, which is being set up in the campus of the Institute of Rural Management (IRMA) located in Anand, Gujarat, will promote education, training and research in the cooperative sector. A campus of this will also be set up in Uttarakhand. So that our youth can get cooperative management and technical skills.
Will give diploma and PhD degree
He informed that it is named after Amul founder Tribhuvan Das Patel. It will provide degree, diploma and PhD courses in the cooperative sector. It will create a network of cooperative training institutes across the country. This initiative will strengthen the cooperative sector of Uttarakhand and promote rural development and financial inclusion.
NPA recovery in Uttarakhand in line with Gujarat model
Apart from this, in the meeting, it was agreed to organize special training programs for the employees of cooperative banks in collaboration with Uttarakhand’s cooperative bank GSCB. These programs will focus on digital technology, financial management, customer service and rural economic development. Dr. Rawat talked about accelerating NPA recovery in Uttarakhand in line with the Gujarat model and implementing a structured action plan.
