ULFA (I) said in a statement that drone attacks have been carried out on several mobile camps in the early hours. This organization claims that a senior leader of the banned organization was killed in these attacks, while about 19 others were injured. On this claim of ULFA, Lieutenant Colonel Mahendra Rawat said, “The Indian Army has no information about any such operation. ”

If sources are to be believed, apart from ULFA-I, NSCN-K hideouts have also been targeted in this drone attack. Many workers of this organization have also been casualties. However, the official statement of the army has not come out yet.

ULFA (I) was formed in 1979

United Liberation Front of Assam is a major terrorist and militant organization active in Assam, which was formed in the year 1979. During that time, Paresh Barua along with his comrades formed this organization. The reason behind this was the goal of making Assam an autonomous and sovereign state through armed struggle. The central government banned it in the year 1990 and also started military operation.

In 2008, ULFA leader Arabinda Rajkhowa was arrested from Bangladesh and then handed over to India. Due to the terror of ULFA, tea traders left Assam for once.
