This time monsoon in Uttarakhand is raining as a disaster for the local people and travelers. Incidents of cloudburst, heavy rain and landslides in many districts of the state have disrupted life. Roads have broken down at many places, due to which traffic has been completely disrupted.
55 roads of Uttarakhand are closed
Due to the rains across the state, traffic has been stopped due to falling of big rocks on the national highways, while the roads of many rural areas have been completely broken and washed away. PWD Secretary Pankaj Pandey said that at present a total of 55 roads are damaged in the state, which include national highways, link roads, rural roads and small town connecting roads. The teams of the department have been kept on alert and the work of opening the roads is going on.
Loss of 90 crores has been done
Pankaj Pandey said that the rain was so intense in many areas that even machinery is facing a lot of difficulty in reaching the spot. The secretary also said that so far this monsoon the department has suffered a loss of about 90 crore rupees. This includes damage to roads, damage to bridges and disruption of ongoing construction work.
