Uttarakhand: Native land law struggle committee contested in panchayat elections, supported 30 candidates

The Mool Niwas Bhoomi Kanoon Sangharsh Samiti has also entered the fray in the three-tier panchayat elections to be held in Uttarakhand. Today, the Sangharsh Samiti has released a list of 30 candidates in the first phase for the panchayat elections. The committee has given its support to them.
The Mool Niwas Bhoomi Kanoon Sangharsh Samiti has announced its first phase support for the 2025 level panchayat elections to be held in the state. The Mool Niwas Bhoomi Kanoon Sangharsh Samiti has given its support to 20 candidates of the district panchayat and 10 candidates of the area panchayat and village head.
The committee’s convenor Lushun Todaria issued a statement saying that all these candidates are associated with the ideology of the committee regarding the issues of Mool Niwas and land law and the identity of Uttarakhand. From time to time, they have been playing a vocal role in public interest. He said that our support is not to any political party but to the ideology, which is committed to protect the culture, land and identity of Uttarakhand.
He said that many aware and struggling candidates from other districts of Uttarakhand have also appealed to the committee for support. Discussions are going on in this matter. Some more names can also be announced in the next one or two days. He has described the committee’s decision as not just a formality but a symbol of emotional loyalty and dedication towards Uttarakhand interests.
List of supported candidates: For the district panchayat member, Priyanshu Muyal from Pauri Singori, Rakesh Bisht from Jaspur Swalde from Almora, Sudesh Bhatt from Pauri Garhwal Jamkeshwar Umroli, Surendra Chauhan from Pokhra of Pauri, Devendra Bhatt from Jamti of Tehri district, Bhupendra Koranga from Badet of Bageshwar, Sajendra Kathait from Nand Nagar Bheti of Chamoli district, Jawahar Bhatt from Dhaulkandi of Pauri district, Dhak Aayushi of Chamoli, Deepa from Ramani of Pauri, Mamta from Gausari of Tehri, Poonam from Gadri of Pauri, District Panchayat member candidate Pushpa Devi from Tehri Thati Dagar has been declared as their supported candidate. Similarly, Shailbala from Gorthi in Tehri, Usha Chauhan from Verola in Rishikesh, Vijayalakshmi Pawar from Sahab Nagar in Rishikesh, Vinita from Raturi Khadri in Rishikesh, Kusum Lata from Ujrada in Almora and Geeta from Kharda in Almora have been declared as the supported candidates of the Sangharsh Samiti.
