This time, Panchayat elections 2025 in Pratapnagar block of Tehri district have emerged as an example of not just political conflict, but social unity and mutual cooperation. While there is a ruckus about panchayat elections across the state, 25 out of 101 gram panchayats of Pratapnagar have set an example by electing their gram pradhans unopposed.

Let us tell you that these 25 gram panchayats rose above political tussle and chose the leadership by mutual consent. Not only this, out of 40 area panchayat members, one area panchayat member from Shukri, Pansut area has also been elected unopposed. Bhatura Patti was at the top of the list of unopposed heads, where 9 gram panchayats elected their heads by consensus. These include gram panchayats Abki, Khatta, Likhwargaon, Tinwalgaon, Kotalgaon, Saud, Rodia, Sujadgaon and Chamasaud.
Upli Ramoli Patti remained in second place
The participation of Upli Ramoli Patti was also commendable. The newly formed Gram Panchayat Upla Kandiyalgaon, along with Pandhargaon, Baildogi, Herwalgaon, Garwangaon, Onalgaon, Siloda and Khurmula elected their Pradhans unopposed. On the other hand, Majaf, Pansut and Shukri villages of On Patti, which is counted among the biggest Gram Panchayats of Pratapnagar, also elected their Gram Pradhans unopposed without any electoral tussle. Raika Patti remained in fourth place, where Jhiwali, Jangi and Sem Ghandyalgi Gram Panchayats elected Pradhans unopposed. On the other hand, Raund Ramoli Patti remained in fifth place, in which elections were not required in Piplogi and Pujargaon villages also.
Election battle continues in other 76 Panchayats
Although the unopposed election in 25 Gram Panchayats has presented a decent picture of democracy, but in the remaining 76 Gram Panchayats, the competition for the post of Pradhan has still gained momentum. Apart from this, the contest is going on for 39 out of 40 area Panchayat member posts.
