Devbhoomi Uttarakhand is resonating with the chants of Bholenath today. Today is the first Monday of the month of Sawan. This day is very auspicious for the worship of Lord Shiva. Since morning, a crowd of devotees is gathering in the Shiva temples for Jalabhishek.
It is believed that by worshipping Shiva on Sawan Monday, all the wishes of the devotee are fulfilled. Apart from this, happiness and prosperity always reside in life. In such a situation, let us know in detail the worship method and importance of this day
The ancient Kamleshwar Mahadev temple is the center of reverence, worship and faith
The ancient Siddhapeeth Kamleshwar Mahadev temple of Srinagar Garhwal Mandal has become the center of special reverence and devotion in the month of Sawan. This temple is not only a symbol of faith for the Shiva devotees of Uttarakhand, but it is also considered one of the five Maheshwar Peeths, where it is called Siddhapeeth due to attainment of Siddhis.
Special Maha Aarti is organized
During Sawan, Shivling is worshipped in the temple with traditional rituals like Rudrabhishek, Panchamrit bath, Abhishek with Ganga water and milk and offering of Bel leaves. Devotees start gathering in the temple premises from the morning itself. According to the Mahant 108 Ashutosh Puri of the temple, any devotee who anoints Lord Kamleshwar with fruit juice, Panchamrit and chanting of mantras with a selfless spirit, gets success in all his works by the grace of Shiva. Special Maha Aarti is organized on Monday of Sawan. The holy month of Sawan becomes not just a religious ritual in Kamleshwar Mahadev Temple, but a powerful medium to move towards self-purification, devotion and salvation. The atmosphere here fills the devotees with spiritual energy, which helps in giving a new direction to life. Mythological belief and historical importance
Mythological belief is that Kamleshwar Mahadev temple is the same place where Shri Ram performed Rudrabhishek by offering 108 lotus flowers to get rid of the sin of Brahmahatya. This place is also associated with the Panchkedar tradition.
Here Lord Vishnu received Sudarshan Chakra by offering Sahastra Kamal and Shri Krishna performed Khad Deepak Puja with the desire of having a child. Even today, childless couples perform this puja on Kartik Shukla Chaturdashi. In the month of Sawan, devotees offer 1.25 lakh Bel leaves and pray for happiness, prosperity and child birth. This month is considered dedicated to Shiva in memory of Shiva drinking Halahal poison during Samudra Manthan.
