Ever since the Iran-Israel ceasefire, the US has been pressuring Iran to enter into a nuclear deal. Iran has expressed its desire to enter into a deal, but it does not want to rush into it. Now the US and three European countries have given Iran 45 days. According to the Axios report, Iran has been given time till August to reach a nuclear deal.

According to reports, if no agreement is reached by this deadline, the three European powers are planning to implement the ‘snapback’ mechanism, which will re-impose all the United Nations Security Council sanctions on Iran that were lifted under the 2015 Iran deal. After which, Iran’s economy, which is already going through a crisis, may be in a worse condition.

I am not in a hurry to negotiate – Trump

After reaching Washington from his Pittsburgh visit, Trump told the media that Tehran is hoping for talks with the US, but he is in no hurry to talk to Iran. Referring to the US attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities, Trump said, “They would like to talk. I am in no hurry to talk because we have destroyed their facilities.”

Will Iran’s condition be the same as it was in 2015?

Until 2015, Iran was under the burden of heavy sanctions over its nuclear program. The then US President Barack Obama had removed many sanctions from Iran by entering into a nuclear deal with it. Later, Trump cancelled this deal in his first term, saying that this deal was not right and Iran had benefited more from it.

During Trump’s second term, talks on nuclear deal between the US and Iran had started once again. During several rounds of meetings, Israel attacked several cities including Iran’s nuclear facilities on 13 June. After which Iran has withdrawn from the talks and is now demanding a guarantee of no attack to resume the talks.
