BJP has hit back at the allegations leveled by former Chief Minister Harish Rawat on Jal Jeevan Mission. Congress spokesperson Suresh Joshi has said that Congress is not able to digest the availability of tap water in every house. It is surprising that even after a long rule, they could not provide water in villages, leave alone homes.

State spokesperson Suresh Joshi, commenting on Harish Rawat’s social media post, said that the allegations leveled by him are baseless and baseless. He also targeted that when the Congress government was in power, only one lakh 30 thousand houses in Uttarakhand had water taps. Not only this, out of a total of 39 thousand rural settlements, water was available only in 13 thousand settlements. In these settlements also, people had to come out of their homes to fetch water. There were no toilets in the houses, due to which our women power had to face problems.
More than 14 thousand houses were connected to taps
Joshi said that after the BJP government came to power, PM Modi took a pledge to provide tap water to every house, taking this problem seriously. Today 14 lakh 14 thousand 567 houses have been directly connected to tap water and very soon 100% houses will be connected to tap water. Now only 34267 houses are left to be connected to tap water. All this was just a dream during the Congress rule, which the BJP government has made a reality. In the double engine government, today every house in Uttarakhand has toilets apart from water, every house has been connected to electricity.
There was no development in 70 years
Joshi has sarcastically said that even in 70 years of Congress rule, there was no electricity, water, toilets in the villages. This problem of the common man was never in the priority of their governments. The basic facilities which Congress used to dream about have been fulfilled by the BJP government today. This is the reason why they are not able to digest these golden figures of public facilities. Day and night they are trying to downplay these achievements in any way. The people of the state are experiencing the unprecedented changes happening around them. This is the reason why she continues to express her trust in the BJP without falling into the trap of negative politics.
