Team India, which was very close to victory against England at one point in the Lord’s Test match, had to face defeat by 22 runs. In this match, a dangerous plan of England has come to the fore, which they had made against fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah, because Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja were taking the team towards victory by making an important partnership for the ninth wicket on the fifth day of the match. This infuriated the England camp and captain Ben Stokes and fast bowler Jofra Archer made a dangerous plan to injure Bumrah and win the match. This has been revealed by former Indian cricketer Mohammad Kaif.

Mohammad Kaif made the claim

Former Team India cricketer Mohammad Kaif, while talking on his YouTube channel, claimed that while chasing the target of 193 runs in the Lord’s Test match, Bumrah and Jadeja had increased England’s worries by making a partnership of 35 runs for the ninth wicket. During this, the host team deliberately conspired to injure Bumrah by showering bouncers on him.

The former Indian cricketer alleged that captain Ben Stokes and fast bowler Jofra Archer believed that if they could not get Bumrah out, they could at least injure him before the fourth Test in Manchester. Bumrah scored 5 runs in 54 balls in the second innings. He, along with Ravindra Jadeja, added 35 runs in 22 overs to bring the team close to victory.

The plan was to injure the shoulder or finger

Kaif further said, “Stokes and Archer were planning to throw bouncers against Bumrah. They wanted to injure Bumrah’s shoulder or finger”. During this, one of Archer’s balls hit Bumrah’s finger, but it was not a serious injury. However, England’s plan worked and Bumrah became Stokes’ victim by playing a wrong shot.

Will Bumrah play in Manchester?

Even before the Test series against England started, it was clear that Jasprit Bumrah would play only three Test matches. In such a situation, the question now arises whether Bumrah will play the fourth Test match in Manchester or not. However, cricket experts are appealing him to play in the fourth match.

Speaking to Geostar, former India head coach Anil Kumble said that Bumrah’s absence will ensure India’s defeat and we will also lose the series. He said, “If I was part of the team management, I would definitely ask Bumrah to play the next match, because it is important. If he does not play and then you lose the Test match, then everything will be over. I think Bumrah should play both the last Test matches”.
