Jayant Singh Chaudhary said, the level of education in Kerala is very high. A lot of innovations are happening in Kerala, which we can take to other states. Other states can also follow it. It can be made a part of our national model.

What did Jayant Chaudhary say about JSS?

Union Minister Jayant Singh Chaudhary said, the Jan Shikshan Sansthan (JSS) present in Malappuram has been considered a consistently top performing institute by the ministry. Our aim here is to study successful models and innovative practices and implement them in 289 Jan Shikshan Sansthans (JSS) of the country including 9 institutes in Kerala.

The Union Minister was talking about the JSS present in Malappuram, Kerala. While he was praising this, he also praised the education model of Kerala.

What is JSS?

Jan Shikshan Sansthan is a major scheme of the Government of India which provides skill development to the youth and adults of less educated, school dropouts and economically weaker sections. So that they can learn skills and work in the society and can decide the path of employment.

What is the purpose of JSS?

1. To provide vocational training to the poor and backward classes, so that they can earn by learning skills. Such as tailoring, beauty parlor, computer, mobile repairing, sewing, carpentry.
2. To provide employment opportunities through non-formal education.
3. To empower women, minorities, Scheduled Castes / Tribes and backward classes.
4. To establish skill centers in villages, slums and urban slums.
5. To connect with literacy and life skills.
