Congress President Karan Mahara said that he himself had requested to meet the Governor several times, but he was deliberately ignored. Angered by the neglect, he along with his colleagues started a dharna in front of the main gate of the Raj Bhavan and registered the protest.

There was a scuffle with the police

At the same time, as soon as the information about the dharna was received, there was a stir in the police. In a short time, the police reached the spot and took Karan Mahara and the protesting Congress workers into custody. During this, there was a heated argument between the police and the workers.

The police sent the Congress leaders to the police line in their vehicles. The Congress alleges that the Panchayat elections are being influenced in collusion between the BJP government and the Election Commission, and when they want to present their views before the Governor as per the Constitution, they are being suppressed.
