Uttarakhand Panchayat Election: More than one lakh workers will not be able to vote

More than one lakh personnel doing election duty will be deprived of voting rights in the voting for the three-tier Panchayat elections to be held in two phases on July 24 and 28. There is no arrangement for voting for them. According to Rahul Kumar Goyal, Secretary of the State Election Commission, there was no such arrangement in the last Panchayat elections in the state.

In the Panchayat elections, 47.77 lakh voters will decide the fate of 17829 candidates in the first phase and 14751 candidates in the second phase. The excitement in the villages has increased regarding the elections. Along with this, the State Election Commission is also working hard to conduct the voting. For this, 95909 personnel are being put on duty. Also, 5620 vehicles will also be used in the elections.

Another aspect of this is that this time also no arrangement has been made for the personnel being put on election duty to exercise their franchise through postal ballot or voting at the time of departure of polling parties. Such an arrangement was made for the personnel in the municipal elections.
