District Magistrate Savin Bansal, who appears strict on public interest issues, bows before social values. District Magistrate (DM) Bansal apologized with folded hands for reaching the meeting of the successors of freedom fighters 15 minutes late. Then, as soon as he sat on the seat, he started resolving the problems of the relatives of the fighters one by one on the spot.

District Magistrate Savin Bansal had given time to the freedom fighters for a meeting on Thursday. However, he got delayed while listening to the problems of some senior citizens. Well, as soon as he sat on the seat, he issued an order for free travel to the successors of the fighters in the smart electric buses of Smart City.

Along with this, the District Magistrate also showed promptness regarding the allotment of 100 square meters of land. He spoke to the Municipal Commissioner over the phone and personally requested for action. At the same time, the District Magistrate also immediately resolved the dispute and lack of coordination arising in the Senani Bhawan under construction in the old court premises.

The District Magistrate’s pen did not stop here. When it came to his notice that the pension of the successors of the fighters was increased in the year 2021, but the arrears have not been paid yet.

The District Magistrate immediately directed the Chief Treasury Officer to pay the arrears immediately. On this occasion, Secretary MDDA Mohan Singh Barniya, Additional District Magistrate Administration Jai Bharat Singh, Additional Municipal Commissioner Raza Abbas, Sub-District Magistrate Sadar Hargiri, Aparna Singh, Chief Treasury Officer Neetu Bhandari etc. were present.

There will be a separate registration counter in the hospital for the successors

The District Magistrate directed to open separate registration counters in more crowded hospitals like Doon to provide convenience to the successors of the fighters and senior citizens. The District Magistrate said that additional staff should also be deployed for this.

Steps also taken on these points

  • The District Magistrate said that better arrangements will be made for the preservation of the memorial plaque of our freedom fighters, the heroes of independence.
  • Correspondence with Health, PWD, Urban Development, Education Department etc. to name important sites after freedom fighters.
  • DPR ready for beautification of historical site Kharakhet, witness of Salt Movement in 1930, work will start soon.
  • Approval received for beautification work of monuments in old jail premises.
  • Directions issued to MDDA for construction of gates in the name of freedom fighters in Bangkhala.
  • Letter sent to General Manager on complaint of misbehavior of conductors in buses of Transport Corporation. Action will be taken.
