Uttarakhand: Leopard terror in Rudraprayag, parents going to drop their children to school in groups

Villagers are troubled by the terror of leopard in Kiroda village of Jakholi development block. Villagers are scared since the incident of last Thursday. They are going in groups to drop their children to school. So that children can be protected from leopards. Last Thursday, Ambika, daughter of Jagdish Lal, resident of Kiroda Talla, a class 10 student of the Government Higher Secondary School Kiroda of the district, left for school from her home. A leopard attacked the girl just a short distance away from the school. She defended herself by attacking the leopard several times with an umbrella. After this, she ran towards the school and informed the teachers about it.
After the incident, an atmosphere of fear has been created in the area. Villagers are going in groups to drop their children to school. They are returning home after dropping the children to school. In such a situation, their daily routine is also getting disturbed. The villagers have demanded relief from the terror leopard from the forest department. The villagers said that the terror of leopard has been prevailing in the area for a long time. Due to fear of leopard, children have to leave the school in groups. They said that rural women have also faced the problem of bringing fodder for the cattle.
On the other hand, seeing the bravery of Ambika, a 10th class student of Government Higher Secondary School Kirora-Talla, Chief Education Officer Pramod Bisht reached the school. He honored the student by giving her a symbol. On this occasion, the Chief Education Officer said that Ambika has saved her life by showing courage and patience in times of trouble and by facing the leopard bravely.
