In 1962, this temple was handed over to Cambodia by the International Court. There is a dispute between the two over a 4.6 kilometer long strip of land around this.

On May 28, a Cambodian soldier died in a clash with the Thai army. Both countries said that they fired in self-defense. The allegation was that Shinawatra weakened the Thai army. Due to this allegation, he was suspended from the post.

Dozens of people have died so far

This week, a landmine exploded on the border. Five Thai army men were injured in it. After which, Thailand launched an airstrike on Cambodia on Thursday. American F-16 fighter planes were used in this airstrike. So far, 25 people have been reported dead in it. Many people have been injured. Thailand said that at least 13 civilians and one soldier have died. 14 soldiers and 32 civilians are injured.
