The situation in Gaza, which is facing Israeli attacks, is getting worse. The United Nations World Food Program (WFP) has warned of a major humanitarian crisis in Gaza. WFP said that most of the population of Gaza is not able to get even one meal a day. One in every three people in the Gaza Strip is going without food for several days. Malnutrition has increased so much that 90 thousand women and children need immediate treatment on an emergency basis.
United Nations agencies and human rights organizations say that the situation of starvation in Gaza may worsen in the coming days as the food supply is continuously decreasing. Gaza’s Health Ministry said in its statement on Saturday that nine more people died of malnutrition on Friday. This has increased the total number of Palestinians who have died of malnutrition since the war with Israel began to 122. On the other hand, Israel, which controls the supplies coming to Gaza, says that it is not stopping the aid from reaching. There is a shortage of food in Gaza because of Hamas.
Concern growing in the world
Concern is growing in the world over the deteriorating situation in Gaza. Israel and America’s allies are also among those expressing concern over the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. British Prime Minister Keir Starmer on Friday talked about sending aid to Gaza by air. Starmer said that Britain will make every effort to send aid to Gaza by air. Starmer also said that efforts will be accelerated to bring those children to Britain for treatment who need serious medical help.
