Heavy rains like cloudburst once again wreaked havoc in Mandi district on Tuesday morning. The lifeline of the city has come to a standstill due to landslides and debris falling.
At the same time, three people have died in this disaster. According to the information received, the son-daughter-in-law and grandson of the former councilor are also among the dead. While trying to save the three-wheeler, the whole family got caught in the debris. Due to which all three died. ADM Mandi Dr. Madan Kumar has confirmed the death of three people. Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur has also reached the spot.
There has been heavy damage in Mandi due to the devastation. The maximum damage has been done in Jail Road, Zonal Hospital Road and Sain area. Kiratpur Manali Fourlane and Pathankot Mandi National Highway have been closed due to landslide.

After heavy rains, a flood of debris poured into the major areas of Mandi city. Debris has come in Jail Road and the Zonal Hospital road. Debris reached near the houses in Sain area, forcing people to leave their homes and run away.
Many private and government vehicles came under the grip of heavy debris. Many vehicles parked in Jail Road and Sain were buried under the debris.
People saved their lives by running away
Many people were present at the spot at the time of the devastation. As soon as they saw the debris falling, they ran here and there to save their lives. Some people took shelter in shops and houses.
Local residents say that this scene was very horrifying and in a few moments the entire area was covered with debris.

There are reports of many people being buried under the debris on Jail Road. The administration has not confirmed it at the moment but based on apprehension, rescue work is going on rapidly. JCB and relief teams have reached the spot.
Relief and rescue work continues
Teams of administration, police, fire brigade are present on the spot and rescue operation is going on in the affected areas. Mandi Deputy Commissioner Apoorv Devgan said that the affected families are being sent to safer places.
