Uttarakhand: Leopard entered a house in Agastyamuni, attacked a sleeping woman, husband saved her life

The terror of leopards is at its peak in Uttarakhand. A leopard has fatally attacked a woman in Rudraprayag. The woman is seriously injured. Several stitches have been put on her face. This incident is from ward number six Nakot of Agastyamuni Nagar Panchayat of Rudraprayag district.

Leopard attack on woman sleeping in the house: A leopard attacked a woman in the early morning of Tuesday in Agastyamuni Nagar Panchayat area. This attack has once again created an atmosphere of terror. The latest incident is of 3:30 am on Tuesday. A leopard attacked a woman sleeping inside the house in ward number six Nakot of Agastyamuni Nagar Panchayat. In this attack, 37-year-old Kushla Devi, wife of Natthi Lal, has been seriously injured. At the time of the incident, Natthi Lal’s entire family was sleeping in the house. His wife Kushla Devi, sons Ashu, Ankit, daughter Jyoti who had come from her maternal home and her infant son Ayushman were also present.

Leopard entered through the door: Meanwhile, the leopard entered the house by pushing the door. It pounced on Kushla Devi who was lying in front. After the attack, there was chaos in the house. Natthi Lal showed courage and freed his wife from the leopard and the family together made noise and chased the leopard away. Kushla Devi has suffered serious injuries on her forehead, cheek and shoulder in the attack. She was immediately brought to Community Health Center Agastyamuni, where she is undergoing treatment.

Seven stitches given to the injured woman: Doctor Dr. Shivansh said that Kushla Devi has got seven stitches on her face. She has been admitted after giving first aid. The injured woman’s husband Natthi Lal said that today my family narrowly escaped. Now this fear will remain for the whole life. Natthi Lal, who works as a labourer, has appealed to the forest department for protection. He has also appealed to the Nagar Panchayat to install solar lights. As soon as the information of the incident was received, the forest department team reached the spot and patrolling in the area has been increased. On the other hand, local people have expressed their displeasure over the increasing activities of leopards. They say that arrangements should be made to catch leopards by placing cages in the area and patrolling should be increased so that there is no loss of life and property.

Attacks have happened earlier too: This is the fourth incident of leopard attack around Agastyamuni in the last one month. A few days ago, a leopard attacked a woman in Barakot Tok of Sillabaman village. Before this, a leopard pounced on a school girl in Kirora. Just last week, a woman was attacked in Gangtal. On the other hand, the villagers of Chamrada are also scared of the movement of leopards in the village. Although no one has lost their life in these attacks, but panic has spread in the area.
