A unique clash was seen in Dasholi block of Chamoli for the post of village head. Where on Salla Raitoli seat, the sister-in-law defeated the sister-in-law by a huge margin of votes and registered victory. Sister-in-law Asha Devi and sister-in-law Neerja Panwar from the same family were face to face in the electoral field for the post of village head in the three-tier panchayat elections.

In the counting of votes held on Thursday, sister-in-law Asha Devi defeated her own sister-in-law by 112 votes. While the sister-in-law got 190 votes, Neerja got 78 votes. Asha Devi, the other candidate contesting for the village head from this seat, got 110 votes. Let us tell you that 17 votes were declared invalid from this seat.
Salla Raitoli seat of Chamoli district was in news. Due to the candidature of two members of the same family, everyone’s eyes were fixed on the result of this seat. Amidst the candidature of both the daughters-in-law, the mother-in-law was confused as to which daughter-in-law should be voted for. It is being told that due to this frustration, she did not exercise her right to vote. On social media, the sister-in-law congratulated her sister-in-law on her victory.
