The manager of the guest house of Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) located near Chandan Field Firing Range in Jaisalmer has been detained by security agencies on charges of spying for Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI.

According to sources, this man named Mahendra Singh was passing on confidential information about India’s military activities to Pakistan for years.

Mahendra Singh is a resident of Almora in Uttarakhand. He is accused of giving sensitive information related to India’s defence activities to Pakistani agents. Sources say that he was posted in this guest house for the last four-five years and during this time he leaked many secret information.

Mahendra was doing suspicious activities in the military field
This guest house of DRDO is the hideout of defence scientists and experts, who come to Pokhran Field Firing Range for testing weapons and missiles. Mahendra used to work here. This area is surrounded by active military areas of the Army and Air Force, where defence related activities keep happening throughout the year.

Intelligence officials believe that Mahendra Singh accessed information about these activities and passed it on to ISI agents. According to sources, the mobile number from which Mahendra Singh used to send information was probably provided by ISI agents active in India. This case has alerted the security agencies, as it is a serious issue related to national security.

Custodial interrogation begins
Jaisalmer Superintendent of Police (SP) Abhishek Shivhare confirmed the incident and said that Mahendra Singh has been detained on suspicion of spying for the Pakistani intelligence agency. He said, “On Tuesday, he will be brought for detailed interrogation by all security and intelligence agencies.”

SP Shivhare further said that the interrogation will find out how much and what kind of information he leaked. The investigation has been intensified to get to the depth of this matter, so that the damage caused to national security can be assessed.
