A case related to Bareilly in Uttar Pradesh remains a topic of discussion. Here, GRP constable Taufiq Ahmed was fired from his job by the then IG Dr. Rakesh Singh on charges of molesting a student in a moving train. But later IG Rakesh Singh’s daughter and lawyer by profession Anura Singh fought Taufiq’s case and got him back his job. Everyone is discussing that the father suspended him and the daughter got him back his job. However, the molestation case will continue in the court.

The case of allegation on the GRP constable is of January 13, 2023. A student of Pilibhit had lodged a molestation report against Taufiq Ahmed at the GRP Junction police station. The police had also imposed the POCSO Act on Taufiq. After this, the GRP arrested Taufiq and sent him to jail. Taufiq was also found guilty in the departmental inquiry.

The then IG had fired Taufiq from his job. Taufiq challenged the decision of dismissal from the job in Allahabad High Court. Dr. Rakesh Singh’s daughter and lawyer Anura Singh fought the case on behalf of Taufiq in the court. She asked the court to cancel the order of dismissing Taufiq from the job.

After hearing both the parties, the High Court termed the action of dismissing Taufiq from the job as wrong. The court canceled the departmental investigation report and the dismissal order. Also, the court has ordered Taufiq to be taken back in the police service. The court said that Taufiq should be reinstated.

Anura Singh has fought Taufiq’s case and got him his job back. But the molestation case against Taufiq will continue in the court. More hearing is yet to be done in this case. The court will decide whether Taufiq is guilty or not.
