Uttarakhand: On the instructions of Dhami, immediate assistance of Rs 5 lakh each was given to 98 disaster-affected families in Dharali

The state government provided financial assistance cheques of Rs 5 lakh each to 98 disaster-affected families in Dharali. This distribution was done by Gangotri Assembly constituency MLA Suresh Singh Chauhan.

The severe natural disaster that struck Uttarkashi and Pauri districts on August 5 caused widespread devastation. At many places, heavy rains, landslides and debris flow completely destroyed houses, damaged infrastructure and affected families faced serious crisis. Immediately after this disaster, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami visited the site to take stock of the situation and announced immediate assistance of Rs 5 lakh each to all the affected families.

Under this announcement, relief amount cheques were distributed to 98 families in Dharali today. The purpose of this assistance is to provide initial support to the affected families towards rehabilitation so that they can meet their basic needs in the difficult post-disaster period.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that this assistance is the initial phase of the relief process. To assess the damage to buildings, houses, homestays, livestock and gardens, the state government has constituted a three-member committee, which will submit its detailed report within seven days. On the basis of this report, a comprehensive relief and rehabilitation package will be prepared, so that the affected can get long-term support.

He said that the people living in the disaster-affected area are my family members. In this difficult time, he and the state government are standing shoulder to shoulder with the affected. Reconstruction and rehabilitation work will be carried out on priority, so that all the affected can return to normal life as soon as possible. ”

Local public representatives, administrative officers and regional citizens were also present on this occasion and expressed their gratitude for this quick relief action of the state government.
