Three important decisions were taken in the cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. First, a new phase of Lucknow Metro was approved, which will expand the public transport network of the city. The Union Cabinet has approved Phase-1B of the Lucknow Metro Rail Project. This new corridor will be 11.165 km long, which will have 12 stations. Where will the semiconductor projects be set up
The Union Cabinet has approved four new semiconductor projects under the Semiconductor Mission, on which about Rs 4,600 crore will be spent. These units will be set up in Odisha, Punjab and Andhra Pradesh. This will provide employment to more than 2,034 youth. Along with this, many separate jobs will also be created in electronics manufacturing. Along with this, 20 semiconductor projects have been approved so far. The total investment on these has reached 1.60 lakh crores.

Third decision, gave green signal to 700 MW Tato-II hydropower project in Shi Yomi district of Arunachal Pradesh. The project, to be built at a cost of Rs 8,146.21 crore, is targeted to be completed in 72 months. Under this scheme, not only will the power generation capacity increase, but there will be a big boost in infrastructure, employment and economic activities in the Northeast. Tato-II project is considered very important from the strategic and energy point of view of the Northeast region, as it is in the area adjacent to the China border and will contribute to regional development along with power supply. More than 3,000 people are expected to get direct and indirect employment from the project.
