Rahul Gandhi’s lawyer Milind Pawar said in Pune court on Wednesday – Rahul’s life is in danger. During the hearing of Savarkar defamation case, Rahul’s lawyer Milind Pawar gave written information to the court saying that after exposing the “vote theft” case, the threat to Rahul Gandhi has increased.

After this statement came in the media, Congress leader Supriya Shrinet wrote on X that Rahul Gandhi’s lawyer had cited threat to his life by filing a written statement in the court without talking to him or taking his consent. Rahul strongly disagrees with this. Therefore, tomorrow his lawyer will withdraw this statement from the court.

Rahul’s lawyer had appealed to the MP/MLA Special Court – Those who have complained of defamation against Rahul are descendants of Nathuram Godse. Rahul should be given preventive protection for a fair hearing of the case. This is the constitutional responsibility of the state. The next hearing of the case will be on September 10.

Milind also told that BJP leader RN Bittu had called Rahul a terrorist, while BJP leader Tarvinder Marwah openly threatened that if Rahul does not behave properly, he may face the same fate as his grandmother. Satyaki, the complainant in the Savarkar case, is related to the Savarkar and Godse families. He can misuse his influence.

The petition filed in the Pune court alleged that Rahul Gandhi’s statement has insulted the Hindu community. Rahul had said that a true Hindu is never violent, does not spread hatred. BJP spreads hatred and violence.

Said in London – Savarkar had beaten a Muslim

In March 2023, Rahul Gandhi claimed in a speech in London that VD Savarkar had written in a book that he and his five to six friends had once beaten up a Muslim man and he was happy with it. Citing this speech, Satyaki Savarkar has filed a defamation case against Gandhi.

In the same case, on July 3, the MP-MLA Court of Pune rejected the petition of Savarkar’s grandson Satyaki Savarkar, in which he had demanded Rahul Gandhi to show the book in which he had allegedly made derogatory remarks against Savarkar. Justice Amol Shinde had said that the Congress leader cannot be forced to present the book.

Had made controversial statements on Savarkar earlier too

During the Bharat Jodo Yatra on November 17, 2022 in Akola district of Maharashtra, Rahul Gandhi had made a comment about Savarkar in a rally. While showing a letter in front of the media, he said that this letter was written by Savarkar to the British. In this, he had said that he would remain a servant of the British. He also apologized out of fear. Gandhi-Nehru did not do this, so they remained in jail for years.

Rahul had said, ‘Gandhi, Nehru and Patel remained in jail for many years and did not sign any letter. Savarkar ji signed this paper, the reason for which was fear. If he was not afraid, he would never have signed. When Savarkar signed, he betrayed Gandhi and Patel of India. He also asked them to sign.’

The Supreme Court had reprimanded on 26 April

The Supreme Court had reprimanded Rahul Gandhi on 26 April for his objectionable comment on Veer Savarkar. The court had said that we cannot allow anyone to speak nonsense against freedom fighters. They gave us independence and how are we treating them. The Supreme Court had said,

If you make any such statement in future, we will take suo motu cognizance and take action. Do not make irresponsible statements about freedom fighters.

With this, the Supreme Court had stayed the trial court summons against Rahul in the case of remarks on Savarkar. The Allahabad High Court had refused to stay the summons on April 4. After this, Rahul had filed a petition in the Supreme Court.

Advocate filed a complaint against Rahul in 2023

On June 14, 2023, Lucknow-based advocate Nripendra Pandey filed a defamation case against Rahul Gandhi in the court of Additional CJM. In his complaint, Pandey alleged that Rahul had called Veer Savarkar a ‘servant of the British’ and ‘pensioner’ in Akola.

He claimed that the press conference was broadcast live on a news channel. Pre-prepared press notes were also distributed among the journalists attending the press conference. Pandey had accused Rahul Gandhi of making this statement with the intention of spreading hatred and unrest in the society.
