Relief and rescue operations are continuing in the disaster-affected Dharali area of Uttarkashi (Uttarkashi Cloudburst). District Magistrate Prashant Arya has been on the spot since the incident. Since the incident, he is personally monitoring every aspect from search-rescue operation to relief material distribution and restoration of infrastructure. Due to which relief and rescue work has gained momentum. Apart from this, the relief amount, essential logistics and other essential items have been made available to the families affected in the disaster on time.

With the active efforts of the District Magistrate, electricity and water supply has been restored in Dharali. While internet connectivity is expected to be smooth by this evening. Let us tell you that the network was disrupted yesterday due to the OFC line cut near Dabrani. There is adequate stock of material in Dharali and nearby warehouses till the road restoration. While supplies are also being made by air if needed.

The damage to cash crops and apples of farmers and gardeners has been assessed by the Horticulture, Agriculture and Revenue Department. Efforts are on to repair the damaged road in Dharali. On the other hand, after removing the debris accumulated in Harshil Gad, the Gangotri National Highway will be operational till Songad.

However, about 400 meters of road in Songad is completely destroyed at various places. At present, traffic from Gangotri to Dharali and Harshil to Songad is smooth through transit. There is about 2 km of walking route from Songad to Dabrani. After that, the road to Uttarkashi from there is smooth.
On Tuesday, the District Magistrate inspected the damaged road from Harshil to Songad and directed the Border Roads Organisation to complete the work expeditiously. He also inspected the damaged valley bridge in Songad.
