The five Congress-supported elected Panchayat members of Nainital, who were reported missing, have now released a video themselves saying that they were not kidnapped. In fact, on August 14, after the video of kidnapping of District Panchayat members from outside the polling station in Nainital surfaced, there was a stir in the politics of Uttarakhand. Congress accused the BJP regarding this and accused them of kidnapping these five members to prevent them from casting their votes.

For this, on August 15, Congress united and protested at the Haldwani SSP office. Congress alleged that these members were kidnapped at the behest of BJP. However, after the assurance of SP City, Congress ended the protest.
After which, there was a ruckus over the disappearance of five Congress-supported members. Now the video of the same members is becoming increasingly viral on social media. In which they are seen saying that they were not kidnapped, they have gone out for a stroll on their own will.
