India Alliance has nominated former Supreme Court judge B. Sudarshan Reddy for this post. On Tuesday, 19 August, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge announced the name. In such a situation, now Sudarshan Reddy will compete with NDA candidate CP Radhakrishnan. The election for the post of Vice President is going to be interesting. This is because both the candidates are from South India.

Today India Alliance held a press conference. In which the party president Mallikarjun Kharge said, “B. Sudarshan Reddy is one of the most distinguished jurists of India. He has had a long legal career. During this time, he has worked as a judge of the Andhra Pradesh High Court, Chief Justice of the Guwahati High Court and a judge of the Supreme Court. He has worked continuously for social, economic and political justice.”

Who is India Alliance candidate Sudarshan Reddy?

B. Sudarshan Reddy was born on 8 July 1946 in Akula Mailaram village of Ranga Reddy district of Andhra Pradesh. Sudarshan Reddy, who belongs to a farmer family, did his early education from Hyderabad. He did law from Osmania University in the year 1971. After which he held many important positions. Sudarshan Reddy was a former judge. He was also the first Lokayukta of Goa.
