Uttar Pradesh: Serious allegation of sexual harassment on IAS Sandeep Bhagia, investigation committee formed of his own subordinates, how will there be a fair investigation?

Uttar Pradesh IAS officer Sandeep Bhagia has been accused of sexual harassment by women officers. Upon complaint, a committee was formed for investigation but the officer, using his power, got his subordinates included in the investigation committee. Due to which questions were raised on the impartiality of the investigation.

Accused of getting suspended by implicating in false allegations

Let us tell you that women officers have made serious allegations against IAS officer Sandeep Bhagia like staring at them for hours in the office, making video calls all night, secretly making videos. Along with this, there is also an allegation of getting the protesting women officers suspended by implicating them in false allegations.

After the allegation of sexual harassment, a Vishakha Committee was formed on 8 August but the committee was changed within 10 days because “favourite officers” were not included in it. The officer who is accused, formed a committee of his subordinates. Due to which questions were raised on the impartiality of the investigation.

It is alleged that IAS Sandeep Bhagia himself is controlling the investigation so that the truth does not come out. A ‘toxic’ environment has been created for women officers in the State GST department. Women officers are forced to work under fear and pressure. Despite written complaints, no independent investigation has been conducted so far. The administrative game of derailing the investigation has been exposed.
