She chaired an important meeting regarding the appointment of district observers by the Congress at the Congress state headquarters. Uttarakhand Congress co-in-charge Pargat Singh, co-in-charge Surendra Sharma, state president Karan Mahra, Leader of Opposition Yashpal Arya, former Chief Minister Harish Rawat, former state president Pritam Singh and Ganesh Godiyal, former minister Harak Singh Rawat and all the MLAs attended this meeting.
Central observer will come to Uttarakhand in September: Kumari Selja said that this important meeting has been held regarding the organization creation program of the Congress party. He said that organisation creation programmes have been completed in some states, which have brought good results. In September, observers associated with the programme will visit Uttarakhand. The top leadership has appointed one observer for each district, three observers of Uttarakhand Congress will go to each district with them. The observers will stay in each district for 10 days and interact with people and various organisations.
Report will be sent to AICC: During this time, they will also discuss with party workers and leaders about the candidates and will prepare their report and send it to AICC. He said that district presidents will be appointed in every district after discussion on the basis of the report of the observers.
New people will be added to the organisation: He said that if someone is working strongly for the organisation, then they can be continued, while changes can also be made in some districts. Kumari Selja says that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and National President Mallikarjun Khadke have also expressed their desire that new people should be added to the organisation, so that new energy can be infused in the organisation.
Targeted BJP government: Kumari Selja said that the three-tier panchayat elections in Uttarakhand have recently been concluded, in which the people of the state have expressed their desire for change. During this, she has also targeted the BJP government. She said that today people are fed up with the BJP government, and people at the grassroots level have expressed their desire for change against it.
She has accused the BJP of capturing panchayats by misusing power and money in the three-tier panchayat elections. She said that these actions of the BJP have given the Congress a chance to be alert in the future. Therefore, in the coming time, the organization will be strengthened further at the district, block, division level.
Emphasis on strengthening the formation: Regarding the Congress organization creation program, Mahara said that for a long time, efforts were being made to give a new look to the organization, after which the top leadership has started the organization creation program to strengthen the organization.
She said that work is now being done towards making the party a cadre based party. This program is a form of that. Under this program, the observers will visit the districts and communicate with about two to two and a half thousand people, and will stay there for at least 7 or maximum 12 days.
After that, the observers will send the data to the AICC and a person who fulfills all the criteria will be selected for the new district president. He said that technically this is a good effort and many good things will come out of it to strengthen the Congress organization.
