In Uttarakhand, as much as the discussions are going on about the disasters coming in the mountains, more discussions are going on about the law and order situation in the state for the last few days. There was a ruckus from the road to the assembly regarding law and order. The situation was such that the House had to be adjourned in just one and a half days. The opposition was already creating a ruckus about the increasing crimes. Meanwhile, the BJP government’s own people also raised questions about criminal incidents. Today, when the Congress was going to surround the Raj Bhavan over the deteriorating law and order situation in Uttarakhand, at the same time, some masked people robbed the house of a Congress leader in Haridwar in broad daylight.

Everyday some crime or the other is coming to the fore: The opposition has created a ruckus about the law and order situation in Uttarakhand. The opposition is alleging that crimes against women were already increasing in Uttarakhand, but now cases like murder, robbery, dacoity and kidnapping have also started coming to the fore every day. The opposition’s attention was drawn to crime when criminal incidents were reported from Udham Singh Nagar to other districts during the Panchayat elections. There was so much uproar over this that the matter reached the High Court.

Crimes against BJP and Congress leaders as well as the general public: In Nainital, Uttarakhand, the alleged kidnapping of leaders in front of the camera, and then the kidnapped people coming forward and denying the incident, were seen by the people of the whole country. Not only this, whether it is the case of open firing in broad daylight during the Panchayat elections or the mob creating a ruckus in Nainital in the past days. There are many such cases, which confirm how the law and order is going off the track in Kumaon.

Recently, whether it is the case of a youth committing suicide in Pauri after being troubled by the torture of a BJP leader or the nephew of former Chief Minister and BJP leader Tirath Singh Rawat expressing his pain over the complaint of being cheated in money transactions, the Congress is vocal about all these cases.

Apart from this, the former village head was shot in broad daylight in Kashipur. Not only this, a student shot his teacher with a gun in return for a slap. Here, in Premnagar area of ​​Dehradun, unruly students opened fire in the hostel. Such incidents were generally rare in Uttarakhand, but now they have increased a lot. Small incidents of theft etc. are common. This is the reason why Congress is cashing in on the issue.

Uproar over crime from session to road: There is chaos all around in Uttarakhand due to disaster, but the opposition tried its best to corner the government not on disaster but on crime during the session in Gairsain, far away from Dehradun. Due to which all the MLAs and the entire government had to return to Dehradun after wrapping up the four-day assembly session in one and a half days.

In the assembly, the opposition not only tore papers in the matter of crime, but the opposition leaders, adamant on discussing the crime, spent the night inside the assembly. Regarding the increasing crimes in Uttarakhand, Congress leader Harish Rawat said that the state government has remained silent on the crimes from the beginning. This is the reason that such incidents are happening in many districts every day, which has not happened in the state till date.

The opposition is furious for many days: Congress state president Karan Mahara marched to Raj Bhavan 10 days ago seeking permission to meet the Governor. Today too, he reached Raj Bhavan with hundreds of Congress workers to meet the Governor, but he was stopped by putting up barricades.

“Law and order has deteriorated in Uttarakhand and he wanted to meet the Governor regarding this, but he was not allowed to meet the Governor. The police stands in his way by putting up barricades. Whereas, criminals are roaming freely in the state. It would have been better if the police, which is stopping the opposition in this way, had shown such activism to stop crimes.”

Congress state president Karan Mahara said that incidents of crime are happening at different places in Uttarakhand, but the police administration is unable to stop it. He says that the responsibility of police officers should be fixed regarding crimes in the state.

Trivendra Rawat also made a sarcastic remark: It is not that only Congress is raising an alarm on the BJP government or the working style of the police administration regarding law and order, but former Chief Minister and current MP from Haridwar Trivendra Singh Rawat is also seen worried about the increasing crimes in Uttarakhand. Trivendra Singh Rawat says that the police administration should learn a lesson from the kind of crimes that criminals are continuously committing in the state.

The police should do the work that is made for the police. If crime is happening anywhere, then the accountability of the police officers should be fixed. Trivendra Rawat has said that the government should review the criminal cases. In which it will have to be seen who are the people in the state who are spoiling the peaceful atmosphere of Uttarakhand by committing crimes like this.

On one hand Congress raised voice against crime, on the other hand robbery took place: The surprising thing is that today, on 26th August, when Congress was marching towards Raj Bhawan over deteriorating law and order situation in Uttarakhand, at the same time some masked miscreants attacked the house of a senior Congress leader in Shivalik Nagar, one of the poshest areas of Haridwar. Where three miscreants carried out the robbery and stole away the car parked in the garage.

Apart from this, they also stole gold and silver jewellery and some cash kept in the house. Businessman and Congress leader Gulbir Singh’s daughter was present at home during the robbery. The family is satisfied that the criminals did not harm any member of the family. After the incident, Haridwar police has formed different teams on this matter and started catching the criminals.

Action taken in some cases, still empty handed in some: In the incidents of increasing crime in Uttarakhand, the police has solved some cases. In which the accused of the firing incident during the elections in Nainital were caught by the police from Uttar Pradesh, while in Pauri, the police also arrested a BJP leader and sent him to jail. In some such cases, while the police action is still going on, the criminals are still roaming freely in some cases.
