A meeting of the State Level Inter-Departmental Coordination Committee regarding birth-death registration was held in the Secretariat on Friday under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan. During the meeting, the Chief Secretary discussed in detail about the process and problems of birth-death registration.

The Chief Secretary directed that registration of birth-death should be done compulsorily within the prescribed time limit. He has also directed to digitize the old documents related to birth-death registration. He said that necessary information regarding the Registrar Office should be compulsorily displayed on the information board outside the Registrar Offices.

The Chief Secretary directed that the meeting of the District Level Coordination Committee (DLCC) should be compulsorily organized at least once a year under the chairmanship of the District Registrar/District Magistrate at the district level. He also talked about taking necessary action including extensive publicity to stop the work of birth-death registration through fake portals/websites in the state.

On this occasion, Secretary Ravinath Raman, Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar, Director Census Operations Directorate, Mrs. Eva Ashish Srivastava, Additional Secretary, Mrs. Ranjana Rajguru and other senior officers were present.
