56% women account holders

Recently, the Finance Ministry said that the number of accounts under Jan Dhan has increased significantly. In March 2015, this number was 14.72 crores. While by 13 August 2025, it has increased to 56.16 crores. 56 percent of this includes women. 67 percent of the accounts have been opened from rural and semi-urban areas.

38.68 crore RuPay debit cards issued

A total of 38.68 crore RuPay debit cards have been issued under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana. These accounts are valid for Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY), Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY), Atal Pension Yojana (APY) and Micro Units Development and Refinance Agency Bank (Mudra) Yojana.
